Welcome to the Kingston St Mary Church of England Primary School website

Welcome to our website and thank you for taking the time to find out about our school.

We are a small and friendly school: small enough to know all of our pupils really well but large enough to offer a good range of opportunities.  Our pupils are mainly happy, enthusiastic and well behaved.  They take a real pride in the school and we are proud of their achievements.

Academically, our pupils usually attain very good SATs results  but achievement is so much broader than this.  We believe that P.E, music, the arts and the outdoors are fundamental to children’s enjoyment and development at school.  If a child is not happy, he or she will only make limited progress.

Our school is a Church Of England Primary School and we enjoy good links and support from the local church and the community.  We have half termly themes for our assemblies such as compassion, courage and friendship.  These themes are developed in class too.

Our parents and governors are very supportive of the school – always keen to develop the school further and offer practical help.  Teachers and teaching assistants are hard working, skilful and caring.

At a school council meeting I asked the children what they would be proud of if they were the Headteacher of the school, expecting (and hoping for) particular answers, I must confess.  The first answer I received summed it all up beautifully.  The answer was that I should be proud of the children.  I am!
